Whenever we’re together in the free-zone: a backyard
she has made her pleasure ground, my dog finds
the place that seems to vibrate just a little
and drops the stick and begins to roll over
the grass as if to bring in closer a voice
she hears underneath everything. It’s the voice
of the world talking to her I’m thinking with an
enchantment that feels unmo…
